Subscriptions, Cancellation & Refunds
How SteadyBounds Premium works, how to cancel it, and how to ask Apple for a refund. Every Screen Time control in SteadyBounds is free.
PREMIUM IS AN AUTO-RENEWING SUBSCRIPTION. UNLESS YOU CANCEL AT LEAST 24 HOURS BEFORE THE END OF THE CURRENT PERIOD OR FREE TRIAL, APPLE CHARGES YOUR APPLE ACCOUNT FOR THE NEXT PERIOD AT THE RENEWAL PRICE (CURRENTLY $5.99 PER MONTH OR $49.99 PER YEAR IN THE U.S.) AND KEEPS RENEWING IT UNTIL YOU CANCEL. YOU CAN CANCEL AT ANY TIME IN SETTINGS > [YOUR NAME] > SUBSCRIPTIONS.
1. Plans and prices
SteadyBounds is provided by Vantaryn Labs LLC (“Vantaryn Labs,” “we,” “us”). The app is free to download. SteadyBounds Premium is an optional auto-renewing subscription:
- Monthly: $5.99 per month.
- Yearly: $49.99 per year, with a 14-day free trial for eligible new subscribers.
These are U.S. prices. Prices in other countries and currencies may differ and may include tax. Before you confirm a purchase, the App Store purchase screen shows the exact price, billing period and any free trial that applies to you.
- One subscription covers your family. Premium unlocks for the SteadyBounds family it was purchased for, including every child, device, and parent or guardian in that family.
- The family owner buys it. Only the family owner (the parent or guardian who created the family) can buy or restore Premium.
- Linked to your SteadyBounds family. Premium is not shared through an Apple Family Sharing group, and it cannot be moved to a different SteadyBounds family, including a new family created after the original is deleted.
- Billed by Apple. Apple charges your Apple Account. We do not receive your card number.
2. What stays free
Every Screen Time control is free and will stay free: we will not charge for Screen Time controls or move them into Premium. (This is a promise about price, not a promise that every feature will always be offered; features can change as our Terms describe.) Without Premium, you can use:
- daily limits, bedtimes, school time and breaks;
- app and website rules;
- time requests and approvals, extra time, and the Time Bank;
- screen time reports;
- every child and every device, and both parents or guardians;
- starter lessons at every level that earn time, and the daily challenge;
- one-off chores;
- avatars and profile photos; and
- removing SteadyBounds from a device, deleting your account and data, and restoring or managing a purchase.
4. The 14-day free trial
- The yearly plan includes a 14-day free trial for eligible new subscribers. Apple decides who is eligible. For example, an Apple Account that has already used a free trial for SteadyBounds Premium may not be eligible again.
- Before you confirm, the App Store purchase screen shows whether a free trial applies to your purchase, when it ends and the price you will be charged after it. If that screen does not show a free trial, your purchase does not include one.
- You will not be charged during the trial.
- If you do not cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends, your yearly subscription begins and Apple charges the yearly price ($49.99 in the U.S.). It then renews every year until you cancel.
- If you cancel during the trial, you will not be charged. Apple decides whether Premium stays available for the rest of the trial after you cancel.
- Any unused portion of a free trial is forfeited when you purchase a subscription.
5. Automatic renewal
- Payment is charged to your Apple Account at confirmation of purchase (or, if you start a free trial, when the trial ends).
- Your subscription renews automatically unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
- Your Apple Account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the end of the current period.
- You can manage and cancel your subscription in Settings > [your name] > Subscriptions.
- Any unused portion of a free trial is forfeited when you purchase a subscription.
- If you cancel during the free trial, you will not be charged.
- Deleting the app, removing a child or device, or deleting your SteadyBounds account does not cancel a subscription.
6. How to cancel
On your iPhone or iPad
- Open the Settings app.
- Tap your name at the top.
- Tap Subscriptions.
- Tap SteadyBounds.
- Tap Cancel Subscription. You may need to scroll down. If you do not see a cancel option, or you see an expiration date, the subscription is already canceled.
From inside SteadyBounds
In the parent app, open Settings, choose Purchases & subscriptions, then tap the button to manage your subscription. It opens Apple’s subscription settings.
Good to know
- Use the Apple Account that bought the subscription.
- Canceling stops future renewals. Premium stays active until the end of the period you have paid for.
- Canceling does not refund the current period. To ask for a refund, see the next section.
- Deleting SteadyBounds, removing a child or device, or deleting your SteadyBounds account or family does not cancel a subscription.
- For other devices and more detail, see Apple’s instructions for canceling a subscription.
7. How to request a refund
Apple processes all payments and all refunds for purchases made through the App Store. Vantaryn Labs cannot issue, approve or deny refunds for App Store purchases, and we cannot see or change your Apple payment details.
To ask Apple for a refund
- Go to reportaproblem.apple.com and sign in with the Apple Account you used to subscribe.
- Tap or click I’d like to, then choose Request a refund.
- Choose the reason for your request, then choose Next.
- Choose the SteadyBounds subscription, then choose Submit.
- Apple decides whether to grant a refund, under its policies and applicable law, and tells you the result.
- A refund request and a cancellation are separate. To stop future charges, also cancel your subscription.
- If Apple grants a refund, Premium may end for the refunded period.
- For more help, see Apple’s guide to requesting a refund.
If Premium is not working, please contact us first. We may be able to fix the problem, even though we cannot refund the charge ourselves.
8. Restoring Premium
If you reinstall SteadyBounds, get a new device, or Premium is not showing, you can restore it:
- Make sure you are signed in to the App Store with the Apple Account that bought Premium.
- Sign in to SteadyBounds as the family owner, in the same SteadyBounds family.
- Open Settings, choose Purchases & subscriptions, then tap Restore Purchases.
A purchase linked to one SteadyBounds family cannot be restored to a different family. If restoring does not work, contact us before buying again.
10. If Premium is missing or a charge looks wrong
Try these steps first
- Check that you are signed in to SteadyBounds as the family owner, in the family you bought Premium for.
- Check that your subscription is active in Settings > [your name] > Subscriptions.
- Make sure your device is connected to the internet, then tap Restore Purchases.
- If the app says your purchase is being confirmed, give it a few minutes. You do not need to buy again.
- If the app says your purchase is waiting for approval (for example, through Apple’s Ask to Buy), it will be available after it is approved.
Still not working?
Email hello@steadybounds.com with the subject “Premium access.” Please include:
- the email address for your SteadyBounds parent account;
- the plan you bought and the approximate purchase date;
- your app version and device model; and
- what you see in the app.
Never send us your Apple Account password, your SteadyBounds password, your parent PIN, a pairing code or your full card number.
If you see a charge you do not recognize or were charged twice, you can review your purchase history and ask Apple for a refund at reportaproblem.apple.com.
11. Price changes
If we raise the price of Premium, you will be notified before the new price applies to your subscription, as Apple’s rules and applicable law require. In some cases, Apple asks you to agree to the new price; if you do not agree, your subscription ends at the end of the current period instead of renewing at the new price. You can also cancel at any time before the new price applies.
12. Your rights
Nothing on this page limits any rights you have under applicable law, including consumer protection rights that cannot be waived. Apple decides refunds under its policies and the law that applies to you, and some places give extra cancellation or refund rights. Those rights apply in addition to what is described here.
